Laurissa Mary Rex, MBA

Creator, 24 Hours in Hell: A Paranormal Journey Through Hell House

With a background as a retired US Army Officer and Special Operations enlisted Soldier, she leverages her leadership skills to manage various paranormal projects. Laurissa's quest for knowledge in this field led me to a uniquely haunted site that inspired a TV series she created and currently produce. This series features horror icon Santiago Cirilo (The Walking Dead) and paranormal legend David Childers (Travel Channel), along with other esteemed researchers, authors, and special guests, all set at the notorious filming location of Hell House, LLC. This site also motivated me to author a book detailing the exceptionally unique paranormal activity there. Titled "The Waldorf Effect: A Paranormal Research Theory," this book serves as the centerpiece of my current lecture tours, captivating a large audience eager for interaction and insights into this emerging and fascinating theory.

As an educator in Pennsylvania, I hold all necessary clearances and am qualified to teach K-12 students, including those in special education. THE TOOLS THAT BRIDGE TWO WORLDS:

PARANORMAL RESEARCH 101

Participants will immerse themselves in the world of paranormal investigations, learning about the tools and techniques used by professionals. I will demonstrate how devices like EMF meters and digital voice recorders detect and document paranormal phenomena, highlighting their effectiveness in different situations. We will compare tape recorders and digital devices to clarify why some evidence is dismissed based on conditions and equipment quality.

Next, a hands-on workshop will guide attendees through the library's history and potential hauntings, led by an experienced investigator.

After the initial presentation and mini workshop an  investigation and a follow-up lecture will cover how to interpret the collected data, tracing evidence collection from early photography to today's advanced technology. By analyzing case studies, participants will learn to distinguish between genuine phenomena and misinterpretations, enhancing their understanding of skepticism and belief in paranormal research.

This engaging program is informative and entertaining, appealing to both experienced ghost hunters and newcomers interested in the supernatural.

This presentation is designed to be delivered as a series, ideally scheduled over a multi-week period. The first session, which includes an hour presentation covers the basic methods, practices, experiments and tools with demonstrations built in. It is  followed by a hands-on in depth workshop where patrons utilize the equipment and participate in the experiments on site in the designated lecture area.   The third workshop is an analysis of any scientific data (evidence) collected during the second workshop phase and shows patrons the final step of the investigation process. We talk about methods and practices of investigation review.

While a multi-week  series is suggested, it is not mandatory. Additionally, the evidence review is not essential for delivering an engaging presentation on paranormal investigation or the workshop itself.

This phenomenon occurs in specific locations where both internal and external environmental factors create layered and  haunting experiences, affecting indiviThe Waldorf Effect Lecture Tourduals AND hauntings differently each time. The cumulative impact of external factors, hauntings, and human interactions can lead to a significant shift in the locations energy. This shift can manifest as an increase in paranormal activity or a change in the overall atmosphere of the house.  In some cases, the combined effects can lead to a permanent disruption of the house’s environment, making it a place with ongoing layers of paranormal phenomena of a predatory nature. This disruption can affect not only the physical space but also the psychology of those who interact with it.

The Waldorf Effect is a complex, four-part theory that examines how various factors interact to transform a location's energy based on haunting activity. These factors include the environment—encompassing history, culture, and geological features—the layers of hauntings, both traditional and created, and the psychology of the investigators, influenced by religion, fear-based perceptions, and psychic abilities. Together, these elements converge to alter the ambiance of a site, particularly in relation to specifically created hauntings.

The upcoming TV series, 24 Hours in Hell, draws inspiration from the paranormal events occurring at this location. The Waldorf Effect is a theory that has emerged from years of research and the experiences on the show's set. This phenomenon has also inspired a book with the same title. Both the book and the series are set to be released in 2025. The book is authored by Laurissa, who also co-created the show.
