The General Stanton Inn, one of America’s oldest Colonial Inns, was established in 1640. This enchanting establishment, constructed around a preserved original dwelling from 1667, boasts over 350 years of captivating history. It has welcomed notable guests, including President George Washington and infamous figures like Prohibition-era gangster Al Capone. From its role as a secret meeting place for Revolutionary War spies to its significance in the Underground Railroad and as a refuge for rum runners, the inn’s walls echo with tales of intrigue and adventure.
